Meet Megan

Megan F. Ciserano, speech-language pathologist and dyslexia specialist in Vero Beach

Every child can grow as a reader with the right intervention.

Megan Ciserano, M.A., CCC-SLP, C-SLDI, is a licensed speech-language pathologist with more than 16 years of experience helping children and adults with literacy challenges. She earned her undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Florida. As a parent, she saw firsthand how hard it can be to find a qualified local therapist who specializes in language-literacy delays and dyslexia. That experience led her to focus her practice entirely on structured literacy intervention.

Could It Be Dyslexia?

If your child is struggling to read, you are not alone, and it is not a reflection of how smart or hard-working they are. Dyslexia is common, and with the right kind of instruction, children can and do thrive.

A Few Signs Worth Noticing

  • slow, effortful reading and guessing at words
  • avoids reading aloud
  • cannot sound out simple words (cat, map, nap)
  • spelling the same word differently each time

Every child is different. It is a cluster of signs, persisting over time and across settings, that is worth a conversation.

A teacher, psychologist, or other referring professional? You often see the earliest signs. Here is what to watch for and how to help a family take the next step.
